Hi!!! My name is Saumeya but you can call me Saum︎.
I’m originally from the Bay Area CA, but I am now based in Pittsburgh PA. I’m in my final and fourth year at Carnegie Mellon’s School of Design, pursuing a major in Communication Design & minors in Photography + Social Political History.
Building connection through visual language is a core principle in my practice as a designer. I place the fostering of enjoyment, and impactful design decision-making at the forefront of my work. I am deeply passionate about the ways in which design can inform our understanding of global issues and recently won an award (The Kier Service Design and Social Innovation Award︎) for the integration of social advocacy in my self-directed design projects.
I just wrapped up a return internship at ︎Salesforce working on the Dreamforce team (Events and Experiences) as a digital designer helping in the production of Dreamforce 2024. Last year I worked as a brand design intern for the internal Global Communications team within Salesforce.
When I’m not designing you will probably find me staring out my kitchen window, eating paella, somewhere outdoors catching sun, or antiquing!
